Bring the whole gang to “Animals of the Dreaming” featuring Col Hardy, on Tuesday, April 18 from 10 – 11am.
The show is suitable for all ages (parents/ carers must supervise children five years and under) and is a great way to while away some time with your kids while they meet some fascinating Australian animals.
“Animals of the Dreaming” is a fantastic program that operates out of Sydney’s Taronga Zoo and combines Australian animal encounters with Aboriginal Dreamtime stories. Col Hardy is an Aboriginal singer who was born and raised in outback NSW. He has a deep understanding of the Dreaming and Aboriginal culture.
One of Col’s passions is to pass this knowledge on to children. The fully qualified education officer will introduce a wide variety of unique and wonderful animals such as Ferris the Carpet Python and Brian the Echidna.
”Animals of the Dreaming” is presented by MidCoast Libraries in partnership with the Manning Entertainment Centre. Tickets are $8 per child and can be purchased online on the Manning Libraries website, or call your local library for details about this and other school holiday programs, many of which are free.
Amadeus next in OnScreen series
Music. Power. Jealousy.
Lucian Msamati (Luther, Game of Thrones) plays Salieri in Peter Shaffer’s iconic play, captured live from the National Theatre, and with orchestral accompaniment by Southbank Sinfonia. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a rowdy young prodigy, arrives in Vienna, the music capital of the world – and he’s determined to make a splash. Awestruck by his genius, court composer Antonio Salieri has the power to promote his talent or destroy his name. Seized by obsessive jealousy he begins a war with Mozart, with music, and ultimately, with God.
Peter Shaffer’s iconic play had its premiere at the National Theatre in 1979, winning multiple Olivier and Tony awards before being adapted into an Academy Award-winning film. This new production,– has live orchestral accompaniment by Southbank Sinfonia.
"Epic. Wonderful. A stupendous revival" Time Out.
