The primary school teacher made the ultimate sacrifice, shaving off her hair during the annual fund-raiser World’s Greatest Shave.
She raised an amazing $1118.
At the same time Jackie threw down the gauntlet inviting students to join her and shave off their hair as well.
She believed the exercise gave students a greater awareness of the importance of finding a cure for cancer.
Renee from Razor’s Edge volunteered her time and expertise to this year’s charity fund-raiser.
Earlier in the week Year 1 student Kirra-Lea Rooney, lopped 45cms off her hair.
Her selfless donation will be made into a wig for children suffering from cancer.
The six-year-old also raised more than $1000 for the children’s charity, Variety.
Kirra-Lea made the decision to donate her hair after visiting sick children in hospital with her mother.
Seeing many girls who had lost their own hair, Kirra-Lea wanted to give them some of hers to make them feel like a princess.
Kirra-Lea can’t wait for her hair to grow again, so she can make another donation to the charity.
