Peter Black from Aussie punk band The Hard Ons and Forest Pooky from France performed some very tasteful pop and folk tunes for 2BOB’s Big Backyard, which triggered a flood of great live performances at the station.
The Drive’N’Home Show was brightened recently by bassist and vocalist for The Swamp Stompers Luke Ligtenberg, who joined Captain Smithy in studio for a chinwag and played some happy vibe tunes.
Then on 2BOB’s highly successful International Women’s Day broadcast (all female presenters, all female guests and all female artists) we had the pleasure of hosting two more local acts.
Wingham singer songwriter Peggy Van Zalm and In Acchord, a Manning Valley based musical group with a lovely sweet sound combining Ukuleles and harmonies.
On this Week’s 2BOB Big Backyard show Capain. Smithy has Jacob Cook from band Harry’s Lookout in the studio to chat about music festival Ocean Rhythms. Ahead of the festival on the Tuesday Drive’N’Home show Alex Dumbrell from Caravana Sun joins Captain Smithy to play some tunes.
If you like the sound of psychedelic folk played on handmade instruments, then check out Datsun Hughes as they play a live 2BOB’s Big Backyard on March 31.
They will also be playing at the Flow Bar Old Bar on April 7 as part of their year-long Whispering Highway Tour to promote their upcoming debut album. To be featured local artists can contact 2BOB.
