In 2007 Upper Lansdowne held a Country Fair but this time organisers wanted the event to be as rural and as locally sourced as possible, with the theme of ‘Sustainabilty - Past and Possible’.
The event aims to showcase how things were once done, how they might be done now and in the future.
From the past, there will be old functioning machinery, hand methods like goat milking, traditional butter, cheese and ice cream making and rope making.
From the present, there will be ideas for a more sustainable way of life like growing non-invasive bamboo as a building material and skylights to save money on electricity and let natural light in.
To show the possible, there will be an example of modern, technological advancement with a working 3D printer.
There will be local fresh food and gourmet food products, including Upper Lansdowne's own Warinyan Farm’s naturally fermented products Bottled Culture.
To show what it possible in the fields of reusing and recycling an Upcycled Art competition for children and adults will be on display in the delightful Anglican little timber church of St Barnabas, across from the hall.
There will be stalls selling different types of wares including old tools, jewellery and collectables.
Many community groups will also be in attendance including the Rural Fire Service, Manning Landcare, the SES and Taree Girl Guides.
Entry to the event is free.
