An initiative of the club and its Taree anime (Japanese hand-drawn or computer animation) group, there will be best-dressed competitions, emergency service and community stalls, customisable game cards and anime screenings.
PCYC Taree manager Adam McMahon said the group had been going for just over six months and had been a great new idea for the club.
“The anime group was formed as a concept plan that Barry Rogers from Ability Links had,” he said.
“He is now a volunteer on this program and the kids of all ages come in and talk all things anime. They watch approved movies, draw, roleplay and socialise.
“The project has been so successful that it’s being considered for other PCYCs around the state.”
Entry is by gold coin donation and children under 15 years of age should be accompanied by an adult.
The fancy dress and cosplay day is on from 10am to 4pm this Saturday, February 25 at PCYC Taree, 95 Commerce Street, Taree.
