“AFL 9s is a great way to be introduced to AFL, as it’s modified, safe and fun to play,’’ AFL NSW/ACT regional manager North Coast Simon Smyth said.
“Best of all, it’s social, and an opportunity for mums and dads to play with their sons and daughters. AFL across Taree and the Manning Valley has exploded in the past few years, with the establishment of a successful Auskick Centre, and the 2016 creation of the Manning Valley Mustangs Junior AFL Club. AFL 9s is the next opportunity to help grow AFL.”
The game has many applications in the community and fundamentally, AFL 9s enables people of all ages and skill level to participate in an organised social competition for both adults and youth. Taree AFL 9s will be hosting a six week competition starting in March. A free ‘come and try’ night will be held Wednesday March 1 at Taree Recreation Centre. The come and try night is open to all ages and ability.
