The women attended a pharmacy on Manning Street and requested two prescriptions.
A staff member became suspicious of the activity and notified Taree police.
Police will allege the prescriptions were stolen from a Queensland medical centre.
The women, aged 31 and 39, were arrested and taken to Taree Police Station.
Police will allege a further 13 forged prescriptions were found in their possession.
A search warrant was executed at a motel room on Manning River Drive, where $9,000 in cash and prescription medications was found.
The women were charged with four counts of forge and utter and larceny.
They were granted conditional bail and will appear in Taree Local Court on March 21.
