The scholarship was established to assist students with their tertiary education expenses.
The applicants need to demonstrate sound academic levels of achievement, a record of involvement and leadership in school affairs and the community through volunteer work or other associations and a commitment to their proposed course of study.
Harrison Hillyer will be attending Armidale University to study media studies and Emily Lee will be attending Sydney University and studying electrical engineering.
Public relations director of Taree North Rotary Club Jan Swift said: “we are proud to continue their support of the youth of the Manning Valley”.
“Both students are very worthy recipients and it was a pleasure to hear them speak and meet their parents,” Jan said.
“We look forward to hearing hear of their exploits throughout the year.”
Rotary’s monthly book shed at the Taree Showground during the Hub Markets enables the club to provide this support to our aspiring youth.
Even though the Hub Markets will not be on this month the bookshed will still be open for business on Saturday, February 18.
“We have thousands of books available for purchase together with CD’s DVD’s, games and jigsaw puzzles,” added Jan.
