There were 157 runs in the Ian Morgan Livestock Open Draft judged by Wayne Smith of Tamworth. Under Wayne’s watchful eye, the outright winner was Jim Southeron of Walcha on Suzie with a big score of 90. Jim Also won the cut-out in the Open Classic Acres with a 23 yard score.
In the Novice draft, there were 261 runs on the day. The eventual winner was Sam Colwell of Yarrowitch after a run off with Ben McNaughton aboard Commence. Both competitors were equal on 89. But Sam riding Firefly took the win with 86 and Ben failed to score. There were four competitors on 88 and five more competitors on 87 in the novice. The judge for Novice, Ladies and Maiden draft was Peter Dillon of Dungog. The Chris Paterson Maiden draft was won by Luke Bennett on Nicko with a 90 score. The Cut-out was won by Ben McNaughton on Music Chic with a 22 yard score.
The Junior Campdraft attracted 35 entries under 13 years. The winner was Charlotte Ramsden with a score of 77 on Donna. The Juvenile Draft attracted 50 nominations and the winner was Carroll resident, Kate Schiffiman, who scored 87 on Katalena. The Ladies Draft had 116 runs and was won by Gemma Clarke of Niangala.
The weather was hot and dry for most of both days, however it rained just before the conclusion of the Novice draft. There was some excellent campdraft over the two days of competition. Thank you to all our generous sponsors, cattle donors and livestock transports.
