The Pulteney Street car park has been demolished to makeway for a new carpark which is expected to be completed by June of 2017.
Lower Mid North Coast sector manager Jodi Nieass said, parking has been moved beneath the mental health building and is ‘working really well’.
Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead inspected the progress of the carpark on Thursday, January 19.
“The project is on track and progressing well,” Mr Bromhead said.
Footings and construction of columns for the elevated car park deck are scheduled to commence in early February.
“The new car park will improve access for patients and visitors to Manning Hospital and make it easier fir them to find their way around.”
Mr Bromhead said the car park will be designed to allow further storeys to be added if needed in the future.
After the new car park is completed, the existing High Street car park will be demolished to allow for the construction of the new cancer treatment and renal dialysis building.
