With 11 libraries across the MidCoast region, bringing the whole team together is no easy feat, but MidCoast Council’s manager of libraries, Chris Jones, sees this as a great opportunity to get things right.
“Now that we are merging three different library systems under one umbrella, it’s really vital that we give ourselves the best opportunity to achieve the best outcomes for the library service and the community,” said Chris.
“In order to get this right, we need to have all of our staff involved and the only way we can achieve this is by closing our branches for one day,” added Chris.
All MidCoast Library branches, including Taree, Harrington, Wingham, Hallidays Point, Old Bar, Gloucester, Forster, Tea Gardens, Stroud, Nabiac and Bulahdelah will close on Monday 13 February 2017 and will be back to normal hours on Tuesday 14 February. For those wanting to return items on this day, the after-hours chutes will be available at all branches.
