Annual outdoor music event Summerfest will take over Harry Bennett Park on Saturday, January 28 for an evening of live music. Gates open at 5.30pm, with the music at 6pm until 9pm. Entry is $5 and there will be a barbecue and soft drinks available on the night. The Times caught up with Amber Jenkins and Sinistra to find out why they are looking forward to playing Summerfest.

Amber Jenkins
Singer Amber Jenkins is looking forward to playing her first Summerfest.
“I've never been to Summerfest before so I'm very excited!,” Amber said.
“I think it's really good that our community has events like this that showcase local talent. I'm very excited to share my passion of music with everyone!”
Amber, who recently performed at the New Year's Eve Fireworks on the Foreshore, describes her sound as raw, unique and emotional.
Sinistra
Forster based punk band Sinistra is made up up Liam on guitar and lead vocals, Ben on drums and James on bass.
They describe their sound as punk, fun and jumpy.
The group formed in music class in year eight and have gone on to play Youth Rock in Sydney.
Sinistra are looking forward to Summerfest so they can “enjoy the vibes with other bands and get our music out to an audience”.
