It looks almost certain the inter-district competition will be scrapped if plans to start a Mid North Coast premier league proceed.
“If this is the last one it would be good to finish as champions,’’ Manning captain Ricky Campbell said.
Manning will be minus two top batsmen for the game, with the Wingham duo of Ben Scowen and Josh Davis both unavailable.
United’s Matt Collier and Taree West’s JJ Burton have been added to the squad.
Hastings defeated Manning in the final competition round in Port Macquarie.
“But we had three or four out that day and they had a couple away as well,’’ Campbell said.
“I don’t think we can read anything into that. Hastings has a handy side, so it’s going to be a good game.’’
Campbell will have a look at the track before deciding whether to bat or bowl if he wins the toss. The game will start at 10am.
