Police are investigating after a man was injured in an aggravated break and enter in the Taree early this morning.

About 12.20am (Wednesday, January 4), a 70-year-old man was in the lounge room of his home on Kalimna Close, Taree, when two males forced entry to the property.
After a short altercation the man fell to the ground, where he was further assaulted by the intruders who fled with a wallet containing cash and personal cards.
The injured man was treated for lacerations to his head by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene.
Officers from Manning-Great Lakes Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.
Detectives would like to speak to two males who may be able to assist with their inquiries. They are both described as being of aged 16 to 17, and wearing black clothing.
