“The noise was incredible.’’
Bob Hoger said this when describing a lightning strike that splintered two trees in the reserve across the road from his Telopea Drive Taree home.
This was in the height of the storm that hammered Taree on Wednesday night.
“It was about 7.30 when it hit,’’ Bob added.
“Even with our blinds closed the whole inside of our house just lit up.
“After it was gone I looked outside the house and I said to the wife ‘there’s stuff all over the road everywhere’.”
Debris from the trees were scattered around the reserve and further.
“There’s a bit of the tree inside the Colorbond Fence at my place. That’s about 50 metres away,’’ Bob said.
Bob added it tempest came and went quickly.
“After about five minutes it was all over,’’ he said.
