The Tigers originally appointed Moorehead and Chris Newman as co-coaches. However, club treasurer Craig Martin has confirmed that Moorehead will now have the job on his own.
“We’ve had a change of plans,’’ Martin replied when asked about Newman.
Moorehead coached Old Bar’s under 18s to the grand final in 2015 and was assistant coach to Gary Bridge at Taree City last season. He was also assistant coach of the Group Three representative team in 2016. This will be his initial appointment as head coach of a first grade side.
The Tigers have also finalised the reserve grade coaching position, with Brent Sheehan taking the position. Adam Kerr will be his assistant. Peter Wood had previously been named under 18 coach. The club has yet to appoint a coach for the league tag squad. This year’s first grade captain-coach, Kurt Lewis, will remain with the club as a player while representative prop Rumone Jackson is a gain.
