Glenda Hutchinson, co-ordinator of Taree High School Alumni Facebook page, said the day went “extremely well”.
“We had people visit us from Perth, Inverell and Lismore,” Glenda said.
“A lot of people brought in archives we didn’t have - like badges and maps. We’ve also got promises of old uniforms, with all these items being donated to the alumni collection.”
Almost 2000 alumni photos were on display, where people could find themselves in photos or make requests for copies.
Issues of the school’s magazine The Torch were also a hit, with many former students asking for copies.
Glenda said the day’s success confirms the great affections students and staff still hold for their school.
“Developing alumni activities has been a wonderful inclusion to the school,” Glenda said.
“It’s popularity says a lot about the school and the strong ties people hold.”
