They all belong to the Forster Wood Gallery Group and they all have a passion for creating beautiful things from wood.
The three men will be showcasing their talents at the Craftathon craft show being held at Club Taree this weekend (November 19 and 20).
Trevor Short discovered his passion 20 years ago and is now a proficient wood turner producing beautiful, functional and decorative wooden ware.
Lawrence Sinclair has also been working with wood for many years, and his specialty is a beautiful range of sleek and sturdy wooden toys.
Trevor Manners’ favourite tools are the band saw and router, putting a whole different slant on working with wood.
With the diversity of their work, the three friends are able to set up an amazing display of woodcraft and they will be doing just that at Craftathon site 27 for two big days in the auditorium of Club Taree.
The event is being held two months later than the successful 2015 event.
“We are very happy with the change of date,” one of the show’s co-ordinators, Gail Robinson of Taree Craft Centre said.
“It will now be an ideal time for Christmas shopping, and with a smorgasbord of beautiful handmade gifts on display, shoppers will be spoilt for choice.”
The auditorium is fully booked with quality craft exhibitors from throughout the state, and with ongoing demonstrations on lots of sites, there is something new to learn around every corner.
A big range of craft supplies will be on offer as well as beautiful, handmade items perfect for Christmas gifts.
Children’s craft workshops on both days will keep the kids happy, and Just Patchwork in Tuncurry and Janome have sponsored an amazing sewing machine package valued at over $1000 to be won by a visitor to the show.
A super craft hamper will be given away each day.
Admission is $5, children under 12 years admitted free (with an adult).
