This was on par with recent years.
Taree-Wingham CEO Brian Leggett said bar and food outlet takings were healthy, although slightly down on last year’s figures.
“The heavy shower we had about 4.15 slowed things down a bit. A few people went home then,’’ he said.
Mr Leggett said there were no major incidents reported.
“The crowd was well behaved,’’ he said.
Mr Leggett admitted there were a few ‘technical issues’ with the new infield screen but he said this generally proved popular with punters. The screen was installed late last month and was in use for the first time for Krambach Race Club’s cup meeting on October 21.
“We received a number of favourable comments,’’ he said.
Taree-Wingham’s next meeting will be on Tuesday November 15.
Meanwhile the club will soon be taking bookings for the Sunday December 18 ‘Santa comes early meeting.’
