Tastings on Hastings is proudly presented by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and is one of the region’s largest food festivals.
A smorgasbord of culinary and entertainment offerings will be provided over three action-packed days for an expected crowd of more than 10,000 people.
Now in its 14th year, Tastings on Hastings includes a variety of satellite events and two major events on the Port Macquarie Town Green - the Tastings Ignites night-time festival on Saturday, October 29 and the popular main event on Sunday, October 30.

Saturday 29 October 2016
- The Sustainable Table, The Lost Plot Community Garden – 9am to 10.30am
Join popular Chef Matt Golinski as he forages through the fresh produce grown within our community garden and pairs it with a locally sourced protein to produce a scrumptious meal.
- FREE Harvest Lunch, Drury Lane – 12pm to 2.30pm
An intimate dining experience celebrating freshly prepared produce sourced from within our locavore region. TICKET SALES CLOSED
- Cassegrain Wine Masterclass, Cassegrain Wines – 2.30pm to 4.30pm
Join the Cassegrain winemaking team for a unique opportunity to taste their award-winning wines in the barrel room, with a selection of local cheeses. $20. To book call 6582 8377
- Tastings Ignites Festival, Port Macquarie Town Green – 5pm to 9pm
Ignite all your senses at the Tastings Ignites Festival, featuring tasty food stalls, fire twirlers, live entertainment and art installations. Sip, sup and savour at the exciting new Oyster Barn. $5 includes entry to Sunday main event. Under 18s free
- Feast with Matt and the Mullet # 2, The Stunned Mullet – 6.30pm
Celebrity chefs Matt Wilkinson and Nicolas Poelaert join the talented team at The Stunned Mullet for a fine dining experience celebrating regional produce. SOLD OUT.

- Town Green and Town Centre – 9am to 4pm
The ever-popular main event provides visitors with an opportunity to sample new products, chat with producers, share tasting plates, shop for local produce, and enjoy live entertainment and free cooking demonstrations.
$5 entry includes live entertainment and cooking demonstrations. Under 18s free.

- 10am ‘Learn with Matt and the Mullet’, Matt Wilkinson and Nicolas Poelaert
Join Celebrity Chef Matt Wilkinson and Nicolas Poelaert as they prepare a delicious meal using locally sourced, fresh produce. FREE
- 11am ‘Paddock to Provedore’ with Matt Golinski
Using fresh local produce from the Wauchope Farmers Market, Matt will show us how to transform market finds into fresh and flavoursome foods. FREE
- 12pm ‘Show Me Chef’ with Charles James
Join hospitality teacher Charles James from Newman Senior Technical College as he shares kitchen tips from his popular ‘Show Me Chef’ online teaching program. FREE
- 1pm ‘Fermenting Demonstration’ with Sammi Zajko
Back by popular demand, join Sammi on a delicious fermenting adventure and delve into the secret microbial world of sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha and more. FREE
