Fashion enthusiasts can try their luck on not one but two fashion competitions – Fashions on the Field and the Manning River Times People’s Choice Award.
Fashions on the Field will be judged by Erin Byrne of Old Bar’s The Bird Tree. Erin said, this year they are looking for, “elegance and grace in ladies outfits”.
“We will be looking at the finer details making sure accessories complement your outfit - this includes your jewellry and clutch, right down to your nail polish,” Erin said.
“As for the gentleman we are looking for sharp lads who complete there outfit with the perfectly teamed tie, cravat, a stylish pair of shoes and don’t be afraid to add a fedora to your outfit.
“The colour trend with men’s suit this year is defiantly light shades of grey and sharp navy, teamed with crisp white.”
In terms of this season’s racewear trends Erin said, “we are seeing lots of beautiful lace along with hems getting longer and shoulders and sleeves getting larger.
“Minimal headwear is on trend for 2016 however, the perfectly teamed fascinator or hat with your outfit will not be over looked.”
The Manning River Times will once again be snapping professional fashion photos for its online People’s Choice Award, where readers vote for the best dressed.
Brooke Shaw of Old Bar was the winner of last year’s award.
Brooke has noticed trends this season going towards, “slim fitting, below the knee dresses and skirts”.
However, her choice this season is a fuller skirt teamed with an elegant top.
Brooke would choose a fascinator over a hat.
“It's always exciting to see who has the most fancy fascinator,” Brooke explained.
This year Brooke won’t be a contender for the $150 prize money. Instead she’s holidaying in Bali.
“I'm sure I'll be at a bar watching it somewhere. But this year my dress code will most likely be a t-shirt and shorts with a pair of thongs,” she laughed.
