The money was raised through a combination of raffle tickets, an auction and donations from members.
Members rallied around the cause in support of club member Mary Gleeson, who lost her husband Peter.
Peter spent time in the Palliative Care Unit at Manning Hospital.
Other members have also been treated in the unit or at the hospital.
A spokesperson for the Tallwoods said, “we like to support our members by working together”.
Golf club members had a morning tea with staff at the hospital to hand over the cheque.
Nurses from the unit were extremely thankful for the donation, which will be used to purchase further equipment for the palliative care unit. Two of the nurses gave a presentation to the golf club members on how crucial this equipment will be for patient’s comfort. Equipment includes specialty mattresses and cushions.
