FNNSW’s jurisdiction extends south from the Tweed River to the Hawkesbury and out west to the Northern Inland. It is comprised of 235 clubs across seven zones, administering football for more than 64,000 registered players. It was against this backdrop that Wallamba FC was named winner.
WFC president, Dave Weller, was bursting with pride.
“I was a little tacker when our club got going, way back in 1974, and have watched and experienced its fortunes ebb and flow that whole time,’’ he said.
“It’s a fantastic thing that Northern have seen fit to recognise one small cog in the wheel. We are very proud to be part of the football community that is thriving on the Mid North Coast.” .

And 2017 suggests further growth. With the pledge of a federal contribution to improve floodlighting at the club’s home ground, Aub Ferris at Nabiac, WFC is hoping to host Friday night women’s league matches.
For now though, Wallamba FC will aim to continue to serve its local community and connect people through soccer, either as players or supporters.
“We love what we do, here at Wallamba. So many people work so hard in our region to promote what is fundamentally a fun game and important social network,” said Weller.
“We’ll aim to continue what we’re doing, hoping to improve people’s experience with the sport and the contact they have with our club.
“And as far as I understand it, soccer has more contact with the most number of people, so we’re happy to be part of that” he added.
