More than 100 people attended the event, raising approximately $2500 for the charity.
The guests were treated to a great day out including a delicious high tea, loads of lucky door and raffle prizes, entertainment provided by Mitch Brown, ‘The Mad Hatters’, Gary Spicer and Ritchie and a rousing segment by the Wingham Pipes and Drums Band.
“To hear the haunting sounds of the bagpipes resonating throughout the garden was a great thrill,” enthused garden owner and president of the Auxiliary George Hoad.
“I’m so pleased at the response to our fundraising day and to see everyone enjoying themselves.
“Thank you to all those who attended, the Auxiliary ladies who did a wonderful job cooking and serving, the entertainers and to the locals who helped with the set up and tidy afterwards.
“It really was a tremendous community event! “
Other attractions included a magnificent display of quilts by the Pelican Piecers Patchwork and Quilting group, paintings by the Killabakh Art Group, several stalls and a ramble through the six acre gardens.
The role of Anglican Care Auxiliary, Manning is to raise awareness, funds and support for aged care and Anglican Care facilities in the Manning, including Storm Village in Taree, Bishop Tyrell Place in Cundletown and over 40 Home Care Clients.
On behalf of the Auxiliary, George presented Storm Retirement Village with a much needed new portable sound system, valued at $2000, from funds raised throughout the year.
The day also celebrated the Auxiliary’s first birthday and Anglican Care management surprised the group with a with a giant cake to mark the occasion.
