Numbers through the gates at last year’s festival were averaged at 3000, and this year organisers estimate that 4000 people attended the festival, an increase of 25 per cent.
Shannon Noll was unarguably one of the major reasons for the increase in festival goers. The Australian Idol runner-up impressed fans and non-fans alike with his performance and his humble and down to earth attitude.
The headline act on the Saturday night, Ross Wilson, also pulled a huge crowd, with both front of stage to the fence, and up the hill beyond, packed. Wilson had everyone on the feet, singing along to Daddy Cool and old Mondo Rock favourites.
Local circus troupe CircArtUs stunned everyone with their Saturday evening performance of a colony of grey-headed flying foxes (stilt walkers) roaming through the crowd, and followed by an aerial silks routine high in fig trees.
Plans for the 2017 festival are already commencing.
