“We had a lot of comments from people saying it was their first time there and that they’d be back,” festival vice president Erin Byrne said.
Erin said the event had helped “people discover Old Bar”.
“It makes 12 months of hard work worth it,” she said.
Tourists flocked to enjoy rolling sets of music, a pop-up bar, and a surf competition among other attractions.
Saturday’s parade of Volkswagen Kombis was a highlight, with 161 vehicles participating, with 249 on display in total, a record amount.
Mother nature even joined in on the supporting act, with perfect spring weather throughout the weekend.
“It (the weather) was the only thing we can’t control, so it was a big relief,” Erin said.
Erin thanked volunteers for their hard work as well as the local media for their support and coverage. Pictures: Page 10.
