Morning and afternoon commuters slowly cross the 75-year-old bridge in their vehicles during peak hour traffic and can often look to their left or right to momentarily experience a beautiful view of the Manning River. Foot traffic is light but the river crossing from Glenthorne to Taree offers the experience of feeling the bridge move with the weight of traffic and the opportunity to pause and watch the river, its wildlife and people at work and play on the only double delta river system in Australia.
Journalist Ainslee Dennis recently took to the river in a tinny to get a fresh perspective on the bridge and decided to give Manning Valley residents a seat on the boat. Enjoy the view!
