Biripi have entered the under 12 and under 17 divisions.
First grade manager Ralph Saunders said the junior teams provide a pathway to the senior team.
“We’re starting to get some really talented kids coming through the ranks,’’ he said.
“And they're all excited about playing in Sydney this weekend. It’s going to be a big thrill for them.’’
Troy Cochrane and Doug Ferguson have been training the under 12s side. They’ll be assisted this weekend by Nathan Theopaneous and Adam Holt.
Both the 17s and the 12s have the bye in the opening round.
“The local community rallied behind the boys and we have lots of wonderful sponsors,’’ a spokeswoman for the side said.
Biripi Medical Centre, the Royal Hotel, Manning River Hotel, Bushland Tavern, Alcorn Sports, McGraths Meats and Town Head Fruit and Vege have all supported the side.
