Budding soccer stars were taken through their paces by the Glasgow-based Celtic players and coaches, who were travelling through Taree as part of a two week tour of regional NSW.
Football Mid North Coast chairman Mike Parsons said the clinic was “a great opportunity for our young players to see the game from a whole different perspective, a global perspective”.
“It’s great for our kids to realise they’re involved with the world game.”
Doug McKenzie, the Celtic FC tour manager and assistant coach, said the regional tour was an opportunity to bring high-level coaching to the bush.
“It’s great for the rural kids to experience what the inner city kids probably get on a regular basis.”
McKenzie said the turnout at Taree was the best in the State.
