Mr Bolte, the owner of Leading Appliances, discovered the graffiti on Wednesday morning.
Similar spray painting was done overnight throughout the Connell Place Car Park.
Mr Bolte confirmed he had rung the police, but said that he decided to remove the graffiti himself as quickly as possible.
“We want to cover it up as quick as we could to take away their notoriety by covering up their names,” he said.
Mr Bolte said that he believed there were multiple vandals, given the difference in graffiti tags and sheer amount of spray painting done.
“Unfortunately this is the reality of having a business in the Taree CBD,” he said.
Mr Bolte said it was not only a frustrating use of working time, but also a waste of funds that could go to better causes.
“This is a morning’s work,” he said.
“And the money spent on paint is money that we can’t donate to local charities or causes.”
