Jess Robinson and Nathan Single both won the State Series for the prestigious 17-24 women’s and men’s categories. Their commitment to training and competing, combined with their natural skill on a BMX has earned them the right to proudly wear the series winner’s jerseys in competition for the next year.
Talented youngster Sonny Easter gained second place in the 11-year-old boys, and Remy Meier-Smith, Craig Maltman, Jayden Chambers and Julie Single all placed third in their age groups within the series. All podium finishers received awards for their efforts.
A total of 22 MVBMXC members contested the State series, which saw riders travelling to compete at rounds at Camden, Castle Hill, Sawtell, Maitland, Grafton and Terrigal between February and August this year. Competing fields were large, with some age categories hosting close to 70 riders. Despite this, all 22 MVBMXC members placed within the top 20 of their individual age categories.
The NSW BMX racing calendar will conclude this weekend when riders compete at the NSW titles at Penrith BMX Club. Unlike the State series which requires all riders to perform consistently well over numerous events, the State titles is a one-day race meeting where all competitors vie for to become State champion in their age group.

MVBMXC has 22 riders travelling to Penrith this weekend to compete in 24 different classes, including youth age groups, the elite 17-24 age group, and adult age groups. Riders will also compete in two different wheel size classes, with the majority of riders on 20 inch wheels and a small contingent competing on the 24 inch ‘Cruiser’ class.
The representatives from MVBMXC will be spearheaded by newly crowned State Series Winners, Jess Robinson and Nathan Single. Competition will be fierce; however, if the State Series is any indication, the Manning Valley is set to stand tall against riders from all over NSW.
