Originally published by the Tinonee Town and Parish chapter of the Manning Valley Historical Society, the booklet has been revised and reprinted in a more ‘user friendly’ format by the Tinonee Historical Society.
The book has taken on a new size – now A4 replacing the smaller original A5 version – with a layout of 80 pages, including many more photographs that have been collected by the Tinonee Historical Society since its formation in September 2003.
This version of the book also includes an index of names and ships built in and around Tinonee, as well as list of photographs.
Historical Society Member Lois de Lange has spent many hours retyping and inserting the photographs in the book which has been printed locally by Bill Collins of Printright, Taree.
To celebrate the new edition, the Tinonee Historical Society is planning a book launch on Saturday October 1, 2016 at the Tinonee Historical Museum, 32 Manchester Street, Tinonee beginning at 1.30pm.
The Society’s Patron, Mrs Carolyn Fazio will be in attendance from the USA and has been invited to perform the honours.
The day will conclude with afternoon tea and a chance to look through the museum, catch up with visitors, members and locals alike and the opportunity to purchase the new release.
An invitation is extended to members of the general public to celebrate the occasion but we would ask that they contact the Tinonee Historical Society if they are coming for catering purposes.
To RSVP please contact the Tinonee Museum, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday between 10.00am and 2.00pm by calling 6553 1571 no later than September 28.
