MidCoast Council has engaged contractor, Dicks Civil Works, to undertake the construction of the new concrete roundabout.
The construction is scheduled to take place over 10 weeks, with an anticipated completion date in mid-December subject to favourable weather and the condition of the under-road surface once excavated.
The intersection will be closed to through-traffic for the duration of the works, with clearly signposted detours in place.
The changed traffic conditions will require school buses to be diverted using the detours that are in place, so residents in Albert, Flett, Wynter, Smith and Nicoll Streets may experience school bus traffic weekday mornings and afternoons.
The installation of the new High St / Flett St roundabout has been funded through the Federal Government’s Black Spot funding program, and is part of MidCoast Council’s commitment to providing safer roads for our community.
