Police have arrested and charged a man following a fire at a church in Taree early on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to the building on High Street at about 1.30am on Sunday following reports of a fire inside.
Fire & Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze. The church sustained significant smoke damage and some fire damage.
Specialist forensic officers examined the site and deemed the fire to be suspicious, with detectives from Manning/Great Lakes Local Area Command commencing an investigation.
Yesterday afternoon, a 25-year-old man was arrested in relation to two outstanding warrants, with police also charging him with malicious damage by fire in relation to the incident.
The Ingleburn man was refused bail to appear at Taree Local Court today.
