While not all members of the group could make the event, a strong contingent of the group’s members did attend the morning tea, with the pharmacy thanking them for their effort in knitting clothing to be donated to the Taree Women’s Refuge.
Guardian Pharmacy’s Alison Smoothy said the business was happy to be able to support a local organisation like the refuge, and thanked all the knitting group for their contribution.
“We’re very thankful for all their donations,” Alison said.
Knitters were able to drop off their items at the pharmacy, who then conveyed the items to the refuge.
Knitting group member Narelle Gallagher said she had made 92 items of clothing to be donated, including booties, bonnets, and other babies clothes.
“Hopefully it keeps them warm, it’s good to be able to help out in this way,” she said.
