Leteah, who completed a diploma of community services at Taree’s North Coast TAFE and currently studies a Bachelor of social work at Port Macquarie CSU, will now go into contention for the national awards, to be decided in Darwin in November.
Leteah’s rise to national finalist began when she was nominated by staff at Taree TAFE for the North Coast TAFE awards.
She subsequently won, announced at the North Coast awards dinner on June 24 at Byron Bay.
She then interviewed as a finalist for the State awards before the dinner last night.
Ahead of the State awards, Leteah offered this advice for anyone considering studying: “Don’t let people limit what you can do, because you can do more than you think”.
In a post on their Facebook page, North Coast TAFE congratulated Leteah on her big award.
“What a massive achievement, congratulations Leteah we are so very proud of you!” they wrote.
