Covering an area of approximately 17.6 hectares, the proposal involves changing the zone of land along Macquarie and West Streets from Rural to Village. Roger Busby, Manager Strategic Planning explains, “rezoning the area will open up opportunities for housing development, providing for future growth in this important rural community”.
Located 24km north of Taree, just off the Pacific Highway on the Lansdowne River, Coopernook is a rural village with a rich history.
“Extending the village through rezoning is expected to deliver positive social and economic benefits, ensuring the ongoing sustainability of this charming rural township”, added Roger. “This extension to the village has been shown in our future plans for Coopernook for over 10 years, so it’s great to see the planning for this area progress toward this zone change.”
