Hosted by Manning Valley Cruzers, members enjoy cars of various types, be they the traditional Hot Rod, American muscle cars or just a nice car.
The club has for the past 13 years held a rod run called The Mountains To The Sea Rod Run, which has attracted people and their cars from far and wide throughout the state and beyond. As part of the run funds are raised for local charities and those that serve the local community.
The run also includes a show and shine car display on the Saturday for the public to enjoy.
Those that have benefited in the past include Nabiac SES, Camp Quality, Manning Base Hospital Childrens’ ward and Riding For The Disabled. Last year $7000 was raised for the Nita Reed Dialysis Unit in Taree.
This year the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service has been chosen as the charity and it is hoped last year’s effort can be exceeded.
To this end our members and volunteers from the local Westpac group have been selling raffle tickets in the area with a total prize value of in excess $1000 on offer.
Come along, enjoy and support a worthy cause. Spectators are asked to help us by way of a “gold coin” donation and purchasing raffle tickets on the day.
Those wanting to display a car on the day will be asked to pay a $10 donation.
