Around 13,600 homes are without power between Taree and the Tweed Heads as a result of the east coast low.
However, Essential Energy says there is currently no loss of supply in the Macleay Valley.
Crews are patrolling lines and commencing repair work, where safe to do so, to get the power back on.
At this point estimated times for power restoration are not confirmed, however this information will be provided once available.
Areas affected include:
Wauchope – 65 customers
Koorainghat, Pampoolah Road Area – 25 customers
Tinonee – 100 customers
Corindi – 1,890 customers
Yamba – 1,715 customers
Dorrigo – 1,600
Woolgoolga and surrounding area – 2,000 customers
Banora Point – 1,300 customers
Alstonville – 950 customers
Wardell – 950 customers
Terranora Heights – 840 customers
Korora – 220 customers
Tyalgum – 200 customers
Minnie Waters – 200 customers
Angourie – 160 customers
South Yamba – 150 customers
Alstonville – 150 customers
Maclean – 140 customers
Uki – 120 customers
Other areas affected include Double Crossing, Rosebank, Federal, Crystal Waters, Evans Head, Mitchells Island, Boambee, Nana Glen, Coraki, Bentley.
Damage has been caused mainly by vegetation coming down over lines.
Customers are reminded that if they see powerlines down to stay eight metres away and call Essential Energy on 13 20 80.
