Originating in the Manning Valley in 2006, the Jamm for Genes is now celebrating its tenth year.
Jamm for Genes is a once a year opportunity to hear great music from loads of local musicians donating their time and talent to raise money for the Children’s Medical Research Institute.
To show your support bring friends and family along to the following generous venues, who have thrown their support into the cause:
- Friday August 5, 5.30pm Flow, Old Bar featuring Dave Ball, Craig Bourke, Alyse Gray Band. Come and catch the guys while happy hour is on!
- Saturday August 6, 7pm Australian Hotel (Top Pub) Wingham featuring Rob McQ, Danny Woods, Kranky Duck, Pete and Tony from Lift, and The Trapps rockin till late!
- Sunday August 7, 2pm-6pm Harrington Hotel featuring The Crew, Paul Stanley, Dave Elith Project and The Workshop duo. Bring your friends and enjoy lunch with a view.
Admission is free. Just bring along your spare change, wear your jeans and purchase some official Jamm for Genes Merchandise from our Gene Genies.
All funds raised go towards creating a healthier future for generations of children to come, by providing funds to the Children’s Medical Research Institute.
CMRI is an independent organisation committed to unlocking the mysteries of childhood disease, investigating conditions such as birth defects, cancer, and epilepsy.
Taree Red Cross Club news
Manning Valley residents are also being encouraged to help fundraise and help the less fortunate both in Australia and across the world by the Taree Red Cross Club.
Members of the club will be running the barbecue at Bunnings on Sunday August 7.
In conjunction they will be holding a cake stall as part of the “Big cake bake”.
Since 2011 the bake has raised over $1.8million to support the everyday work of the Red Cross. This money is used to improve the lives of people who need it most both in Australia and overseas in the many countries the Red Cross operates in.
Your support would be greatly appreciated by the club.
