IT looked like a giant version of the children’s game ‘pick up sticks’ but it was just one of the towering sculptures being assembled for an exhibition at the Manning Regional Art Gallery.

It is a retrospective exhibition by renowned local artist Rick Reynolds featuring the very best of his sculptures and paintings from his 40-year career.
The shrine of the knot and other stories officially opens tomorrow (July 30) with an event from 2pm and all are welcome. Entry to the opening is $10 or $7 for Friends of the Gallery (FOGs) members.
Many would have seen Rick’s prominent public sculptures in the Manning and Hastings’ communities.
In 2000, Rick won a Taree Bicentenary Committee competition and was commissioned to create a sculpture for the main street of Taree.
Rick also created a Flood Markers installation in the Camden Haven region to both enhance the local landscape and raise awareness of the impacts of flooding in the area.
The Manning Regional Art Gallery is located at 12 Macquarie St, Taree.
