The Tigers are now just one point clear of Port City and clash with the Breakers at Port Macquarie next Saturday. Port City continued their recent outstanding form when crushing Wauchope 56-16 at Wauchope.
Port Macquarie should secure the Sharks the minor premiership as they now have a three point cushion over the Tigers.
Taree City holds down fourth place and outclassed Macleay Valley 40-14 in the clash at the Jack Neal Oval.
Forster-Tuncurry should have secured a top five spot by beating an unlucky Old Bar side 26-21 at Tuncurry.
The pointscore reads Port Macquarie 39, Wingham 36, Port City 35, Taree City 30, Forster-Tuncurry 30, Forster-Tuncurry 28, Wauchope 23, Macleay Valley 23 and Old Bar 18.
Kempsey Saints upset second placed Camden Haven 2-1 in the Football Mid North Coast Premier League. The win and Taree’s loss to Port United means Saints and the Wildcats are now locked in fifth place with four matches remaining before the semi-finals.
United kept their faint semi-final hopes alive when accounting for the Wildcats 2-1 while Wallis Lake downed the struggling Port FC 5-1. Tuncurry-Forster beat Port Saints 2-1.

Visiting trainers won seven of the eight events at Taree-Wingham Race Club’s TAB meeting at the Bushland Drive track. The club’s next meeting will include the Taree Cup Prelude, with the cup carnival to be run on August 19/21.
Meanwhile Taree will host 64 teams in the three day Northern NSW Masters Hockey Championship at Taree Recreation Centre starting next Friday.
