TAREE’S Chelsea Green was knocked out of the Surfing NSW Junior Titles in the under 18 girls short board division at Port Macquarie this week. Green couldn’t do enough to get past Central Coast surfer Zoe Ifield on a day where conditions weren’t conducive to good surfing due to small waves and a light west-north-westerly breeze. Ultimately, Ifield registered a 7.93 to 6.70 victory.

Green admitted to being tense before the start of the heat.
“When there’s no waves on offer it makes me a bit more nervous,” she said.
As a result of the challenging conditions she had to change her tactics after scoring a 1.7 on her first wave.
“When that happens I tried to get on one of the littler waves and make the most of it,” she said.
“You’ve got to come in closer to shore than stay out the back to find something, but fourth in the State is still pretty good.’’ – Port Macquarie News
