Organisers hope cricket clubs will use the competition are a lead-in to the new season starting in October. However, it is stressed that LMS is for cricketers or non-cricketers of all abilities.
Six sides played in the inaugural LMS competition, with matches played on Sunday mornings at Taree Recreation Centre. For more details contact Trent Thompson on 0449 544 327.
Minor premiers Eggins Coaches scored a seven wicket win over Tired Ratz in the final. Tired Ratz batted first and clubbed 8/124 from 18.3 overs. Danial Stone scored 28 runs from 12 balls, JJ Burton 20 from 16 and Shaun Carr 30 from 17. Damon Minett, who was named player of the match, finished with 3/10 from 2.3 overs for Eggins.
Tom Kelly smashed 50 from 24 balls for Eggins in the run chase while Minett finished with 32 from 24 and Pat Strathdee 26 from 23. Eggins took just 14.4 overs to score the required runs.
