Around 90 people attended the opening night of the exhibition on Friday, July 8 at Taree High School Hall.
The night marked a special milestone for the exhibition, with it clocking up 40 years in 2016. A cake was cut by president Beryl Moriarty and exhibition secretary Helga Visser to celebrate the occasion.
Taree High School principal Allison Alliston opened the night, before passing the mic on to judge Trevor Weekes.
Trevor is a lecturer in national history illustration in the The School of Design, Communication and Information Technology at the University of Newcastle.
Exhibition secretary Helga Visser said Trevor was very entertaining and generous of his time.
He left many interesting and informative comments on the prize certificates, which people can read when they visit the exhibition.
The exhibition will run until Sunday, July 17 when it closes at 2pm.
All other days it's open from 9am to 4 pm. Entry is free.
When you visit the exhibition don’t forget to nominate your favourite art work for the people's choice award.
