The energy in the room was high as the crowd cheered for Damian Herring, who cut the official cake.
Damian, who attends Northcott three days a week, rose his arms in the air – it was time to celebrate.
“It’s great to see it officially rolled out,” said Northcott’s team leader Vicki Smyth.
“It will give the chance for services to be tailor made to the clients.
“Before it was one shoe fits all, and now the shoes are a tailored fit, to better support their individual needs.
“The decision lies with them.”
A room of Northcott staff, clients and their relatives surrounded a television to watch opposition leader Bill Shorten launch the NDIS in Parramatta, before breaking for their own morning tea celebration.
