A MAN has been airlifted to the Royal North Shore Hospital's burns unit after sustaining serious injuries when he threw accelerant onto a fire.

The man, 28, sustained serious burns to both his legs in the incident, which occurred overnight on Friday June 24.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service flew in a medical team to treat the man at Manning Hospital the following morning, before airlifting him to Sydney.
The man was reported to be in a stable condition.
