This follows the success of the two day event held at Taree Showground.
“It wasn’t without its hitches and has highlighted some areas where additional investment in our infrastructure to allow bigger and better events for rural sports and spectators is required,’’ a spokeswoman said.
“But following positive feedback from Dressage NSW on our demonstrated capability, MVDHC looks forward to applying to host this event in the future and growing it further.’’
More than 450 tests across all levels of dressage, from preparatory level all the way through to FEI Grand Prix (Olympic level) were held during the championship with young rider, para equestrian, amateur owner rider and pony divisions all included.
Some of the big winners included Lizzie Wilson-Fellows, who took out the FEI freestyle championship and the FEI small tour championship on her horse Lets Jazzabit. Grace Kay won both the novice open and elementary open on EBL Sorrento and both the preliminary and novice open championships on the pony TF Don’t Ask.
Local rider Katina Smith had success, winning the medium open championship with her MW Shockwave, sponsored by Norco Rural, and also a reserve championship award on Just Dance and BC Sangria.
