The bream are taking mullet, yabbies and prawns while green weed is the bait for luderick.
A few mulloway to 15kgs have been caught from the wall near the gantry and also on the sand spit in the mouth of the river. The beaches have been severely eroded by the big waves from the north east and parts of the beach are very narrow on high tide. Good bream were caught from the northern end of Crowdy beach on Saturday and tailor to 1kg were landed from the southern end later in the week. A few salmon have also been caught.
Outside fishing has been limited but snapper to 5kgs and trag to 3.5kgs were caught from the northern grounds.
