Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) seven member zones will contest the championships in the 11 and 12 Years divisions.
In addition to Football Mid North Coast other Northern NSW Football Zones will include; Newcastle Football, Macquarie Football, Hunter Valley Football, Northern Inland, North Coast Football and Football Far North Coast; as well as 10 Years and 11 Years Emerging Jets sides.
The championships are the first of NNSWF’s major tournaments to be conducted at Coffs Harbour International Stadium this year.
NNSWF will also host the Westfield National Youth Championships for Girls in July, Telstra State Championships for Girls in September and FFA National Youth Championships for Boys in October.
“Northern NSW Football is proud to host the Telstra State Championships for Boys which will showcase the finest young male footballers from around Northern NSW,” NNSWF chief executive officer, David Eland said.
“This weekend will provide the Mid North Coast’s talented male footballers the opportunity to test themselves against fellow Northern NSW players.
“The championships are a critical tool used to measure the talent from within our member zones and provide a valuable opportunity for our Technical Panel to identify talented players who possess the ability to progress to the next level in their playing career,” Eland concluded.
First matches start at 8.30am on Saturday with both 11 and 12 years games played simultaneously on two separate fields – field one hosting the 11 years and field two the 12s.
Football Mid North Coast kicks off their campaign for 11 years at 10.20am facing North Coast, while the 12 years squad will meet Far North Coast at 11.15am.
The presentation ceremony for the Championships will take place from 2pm on Monday June 13.
Meanwhile the final matches in the first round of the Football Mid North Coast Premier League will be played this Saturday. Only one game went ahead last weekend because of wet conditions. Further details will appear in Friday’s Times.
